Prof. Bers teaches seminars and professional development institutes on learning technologies for early childhood educators and does consulting for toy companies, media studios, schools and educational organizations that want to take advantage of the power of new technologies for young children. She serves as content director for the WorkIt Out Wombats!, an animated show that premiered in February 2023 on PBS Kids, produced by GBH Kids. Every episode features creative marsupial siblings encountering a problem of some kind and using computational thinking to solve it.
In 2013, with funding from the National Science Foundation SBIR program, Prof. Bers co-founded a start-up, KinderLab Robotics, to commercialize KIBO robotics and make it widely available.
